BACKGROUND

Keon Bishop is, for all intents and purposes, a seemingly unremarkable hyur. Pale skin, blue eyes, and brown hair. That is, at least, until one hears him speak, in that he cannot. Any vocalizations produced by the individual emerge as strange, garbled and warped noises that can't be produced or replicated through vocal cords.Due to this, he's unable to communicate properly, and instead must speak through writing or sign language, the former being more reliable due to a lack of understanding of sign language across Eorzea. This fact alone leads some to raise question to his upbringing and origin, but one will find no answers questioning Keon himself, as he seems to possess amnesia.He's stoic, content to roam at his own pace and not bother anyone else, and naturally inquisitive of just about everything around him due to his lack of memories. As such, while bearing generally dark and imposing look, he has an open mind and will listen and speak to just about anyone, though will forego any attempt at conversation once a blade is drawn.In battle, as expected of a Dark Knight- though he's reluctant to explain how he acquired such a role- Keon is brutal, efficient, and cold, further exemplified by inhuman and unnatural strength and pain tolerance.These secrets of his own body, together with his amnesia and natural wanderlust, compel the hyur to take up the mantle of adventurer, both to learn more about the world around him and discover the secrets of his past.

HOOKS

  • GENERAL

  • One of the easiest ways to speak to Keon, frankly, is to approach him. If you have any interest in him, his story, or his abilities, a character simply speaking to him is a perfectly acceptable starting point.

  • BODYGUARD

  • The most common hook for approaching Keon, his demeanor, abilities and physique make him an ideal bodyguard for anyone who needs extra muscle, be it an escort, a haul, or something else entirely.

  • SIGN LANGUAGE

  • Sign language is Keon's preferred method of communication, but isn't one that's widely understood throughout Eorzea. Perhaps your character could take an interest in learning it from- or because of- Keon?

  • DARK KNIGHT

  • While he's reluctant to discuss the events leading up to his acquisition of a Dark Knight soul crystal, perhaps your character takes an interest in the style and prowess of the Dark Knight, and seeks Keon out to teach them? Or perhaps, seeing that even that even he has much to learn about the role, a character who is already a Dark Knight could mentor him to help him expand upon his skills and ferocity?

  • AWAKENING

  • Perhaps you'd want to see Keon from the very beginning, with his mysterious and rude awakening in the Black Shroud, and how his life would shape from there...

RULES

  1. Above all else, I value clear transparency in my partner. I'm not asking for anything personal, but I'd like to know what you want from a roleplay, a clear list of boundaries and limits to avoid, and when possible, let me know if you're losing interest or want to pause, over just ghosting without a word.

  2. I very much value and encourage approaching first. I'm anxious and don't do well with approaching others first, so coming to me first with a plot, idea, headcanon, anything at all is much appreciated.

  3. If you're busy with other things and don't have time for rp, don't stress or feel a need to apologize about response time. I'm willing to wait.

  4. However, this isn't an excuse to ghost me. You can set your profile to Do Not Disturb, or provide a small, vague reason about not responding, anything at all is preferable to nothing.

  5. If I haven't responded, feel free to give me a small reminder every half a week. If I haven't responded by then, with either a response or a reason explaining, I'm busy and will get back to you whenever I'm available.

  6. My personal two favorite genres are romance and action, and a nice blend of both makes for a great roleplay, but neither are necessary, and I'm just as open for stories involving slice of life, drama, comedy, etc.

  7. The one stipulation with romance is that Keon is, for the most part, attracted to femininity and feminine qualities. As such, while women would be his main choice, pretty/fem-presenting males are also fine! Exceptions can be made for anyone of any gender, non-gender, or race as well, just feel free to run them by me.

  8. NSFW is allowed, as long as both parties are 18 or above, IC and OOC, and presented as both of adult body and mind. However, I'd prefer a thorough discussion of boundaries, and ample time to let the relationship bloom in the roleplay before it's approached.

  9. I play FFXIV on PlayStation, and so my character's appearance is purely vanilla. If you're a character whose appearance relies on mods, that's fine by me, just as long as you accept that I can't see them on my end, or are open to things like gposes or streams to show them.

  10. This is also the main reason I do Discord rp, as typing on a controller is usually rather inconvenient, especially for longer rps. The one condition I will make is that while the typing is preferable on Discord, I'm not against having our characters move, emote and react accordingly to the story we're telling in-game.
